Proxima Pulse 20
Two weeks of focus pay off fine tuning the demo.
Dear Gaming Enthusiasts and Proxima Community,
This week we completed our latest build creating a demo that gives players a chance to experience what it’s like to visit planet Woss. We have sent this over to several publishers who will be given an exclusive access key allowing them to trial the game wherever they are located via Steam. The level is now looking tighter and running a lot more smoothly than our GDC build with some added details that really give the game demo some increased playability.
What's New at Proxima?
While the previous build worked for its purpose, there were a lot of elements and assets we knew could be improved on we feel like we’ve managed to level up in this latest build.
The demo now begins with a cutscene onboard the Warship Jolly Roger with some rolling titles (shout out our sci-fi ancestors) Jon is busy tapping away at his computer before exploring the ship. When the demo starts you control Jon on board and explore the different levels of the ship. Here we implemented some additional details such as a 3D holographic map in the war room. There were a few graphic elements we added this time around that we feel made navigating the ship more organic as well as including audio queues which inform the players of the features of each room within the ship. Naturally, once on Woss there’s lots to discover but we won’t spoil that here. When the user has played through the demo we’ve now added the teaser trailer and a message of gratitude.

More to come
Our focus shifts back to building the game, with character models to be designed, storyboarding and of course in game creation we’ll have plenty to keep busy with.
Best regards,
