Angel investors and more episodes of For the Players
Dear Gaming Enthusiasts and Proxima Community,
This week we think about other avenues of investment as well as indulge in a new episode of For the Players which features Narrative Lead, Sylvain Runberg, author of the Warship Jolly Roger graphic novels.
What's New at Proxima?
We had some bad news in the form of a couple of rejections, nothing to dwell on that’s the industry at the minute. Making sure we stay proactive, we put our thinking caps on for ways to help get the game truly up and running at speed. Eureka moment: Angel investors. “What’s an Angel Investor?” I hear you ask. Angel Investors are people who use their expendable wealth to invest in companies and projects that they believe in without claim to a company’s assets. If things don’t work out with publishers, we believe this is a great avenue for Proxima to go down in pursuit of funding for Warship Jolly Roger – we’re looking into all possibilities.
There are a number of For The Players available since our last Newsletter, in one of the latest episodes The Publishing Puzzle: Small Studios vs. Big Events we discuss: where things have started to go awry in an industry which was once the most affluent within media; what it means to be small studio trying to pitch your game to publishers at the big gaming events; the evolution of downloadable content plus much more. Be sure to tune in and find out what caught the eye of Kyle and Harvey from the most recent Summer Game Fest as well as hearing some ideas for the Proxima approach.
In the next episode we have an exclusive interview with our Narrative Lead: Sylvain Runberg. The team discuss Sylvain’s influences across the board from games consoles to the graphic novels of others. Sylvain has written over 135 works. This is a great episode to get stuck into if you want to become more familiar with who is who at Proxima so be sure to check it out.
