Proxima Pulse 32

Dear Gaming Enthusiasts and Proxima Community,

Our big focus this week has been developing a playable demo for publishers and investors. We also have the return of For the Players with another episode this time looking at game engines.

What's New at Proxima?

With the feedback we received from Gamescom 2024 we felt as though now was the right time to get to work on a playable demo for publishers and any potential investors. We got back from Germany and got straight to work on it. Without giving too much away, as you can imagine there are a lot of moving pieces that have to come into play when putting together a functioning demo. The visuals, the audio, the script as well as ironing out any bugs that arise, there are a lot of elements that go into it and each of those goes into much further detail and effects the success of the demo. What we can tell you is that it’s looking pretty good and it’s great to have something to show for our efforts. The work continues.

Our Narrative Lead and author of the Warship Jolly Roger graphic novel Sylvain Runberg has had some great news also. His publisher Magnetic Press started a Kickstarter for the graphic novel “On Mars” and it quickly surpassed its goal of £6000 and is now at £46,000 if you’re a Warship Jolly Roger fan please take a look at the Kickstarter to give yourself a chance to get hold of an exclusive edition of Warship Jolly Roger. Check the link and pledge to get in on the rewards. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/neurobellum/on-mars-a-graphic-novel-about-colonization-and-conflict

Meanwhile another episode of For the Players dropped last week “Engine, Engine, Number… 9” and I can confirm it’s another classic. Kyle and Harvey take a deep dive into the world of Game Engine’s, how they work, who uses them and what makes them tick? Find out in this latest episode. What’s it like to use the Unreal Engine and the boys give their flowers to the geniuses at Nintendo.

Bob’s your uncle😉
